    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Lewis T. Larson Wing patent dated Februay 26, 1878. This wire is called "Wing's Four Point Barb on One of Two Heavy Nine Gauge Line Wires", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 1097-B). This wire features two round line wires twisted together. These are very heavy wires being about nine gauge. . Barbs are four pointed made from two staple shaped barbing wires of different sizes. Smaller staple is set atop line wire with points out. Longer barb is set under line wire, and points go through each side of short staple, and then bent back down. This sample is 18" in length and has three barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light to moderate pitting. There are no bent, broken or missing barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
