    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a William Watkins patent, dated November 21, 1876. This wire is called "Watkin's Sheet Metal Lazy H-Plate Barb, by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 711-B). - This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are four pointed made from sheet metal. Sheet metal is cut into arrowhead shapes, and then pointed end is split. Both ends have an open space at barb crotch. This sample also has a one line factory splice, made by looping the lines back on themselves. This sample is 18-1/4" in length and has 2 barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light pitting, and some light bending of barbs. There are no broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
