    Description

Vintage 1890s Apache Bow, Arrow's, Case, and Quiver
Apache Buckskin Bow Holder and Quiver Set complete with bow and 3 arrows, circa 1886 – 90’s
The Bow Holder (sheath) is 38” long. The attached Quiver is 24” and has 8” long fringe at the center. The set has a Buckskin shoulder strap. It
Includes 3 old arrows with flint-type points. Arrows are very old but don’t go
back to the 1800s. The sinew holding feathers in place has worn into the wood arrow shaft.
A small piece of the original string remains.
Quiver has a cut-out design that is underlaid with red trade cloth. This is typical of old
Apache decorating style. It was as part of the Hicks 8-piece collection of old Apache items. Hicks obtained the Bow and Quiver set along with an old Apache Horse Drape, and Saddle Bag set that had similar red trade cloth cut-outs from an auction. All the pieces came out of a collection. We purchased the Bow and Quiver set from Neil
Hick's personal collection, Indian Territories, Tucson AZ.
