JOHNNY RZEZNIK STAGE USED AND SMASHED 1994 GIBSON EPIPHONE GUITAR FROM THE GOO GOO DOLLS EARLIEST SHOWS AND TOUR. RZEZNIK PLAYED THIS GUITAR IN 1994 AND 1995 DURING THE BAND'S 1ST SHOWS, INCLUDING A 1995 PERFORMANCE OF "NAME" ON THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN. THE BLACK INK DRAWINGS AND GUITAR DECORATIONS WERE DONE BY RZEZNIK. ALUMINUM PLAQUE ALSO INCLUDED.
Per ebay policy I can not post links to videos. But if you search for
the
early videos of The Goo Goo Dolls and the Letterman appearance you will see Johnny playing this guitar. I have found several videos of Johnny playing. You can see his black doodle drawings on those guitars as well as the Cat in the Hat sticker. I have seen videos with
the
Cat in the Hat sticker as well as
the fragile sticker. I have seen a few videos where the
Cat in
the Hat sticker is in a different location on the guitar as well. If you search "Goo Goo Dolls John Smashes Guitar" you will see the video of him smashing and throwing the guitar down. I have owned 100s of celebrity owned guitars over the years. Many that have stickers and personal decorations change over the years, as the artist alters its look. You will notice this guitar had more stickers on it during the Letterman appearance.
This is a 1994 Epiphone guitar. This guitar has the electronic components as well. It worked the last time I checked it. The guitar was smashed by Johnny and broken. You can see where it was repaired in the photos. You are obviously buying this guitar for its collectible features and not as a player, although it still works. It is not in pristine condition, obviously.
The guitar is in very good condition. No case is provided. You will get the guitar, the aluminum plaque, and a COA from Rock Star Yard Sale.
