    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Daniel C. Stover patent, dated June 29, 1875. This wire is called "Stover's Bevel Cut Hammered-on Two Point Sheet Metal Barb on Round Line", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 188-B ). This wire features a single heavy gauge round line wire. Barbs are two pointed, made from sheet metal stock cut with a double beveled face, and an arched back. Center of barb is holed at back, hole placed over line wire and lips of opening are hammered or clasped shut. This sample is 18" in length and has three barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with moderate pitting. There are no broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
