SHINNS FOUR POINT LOCKED IN HERRINGBONE BARB - ANTIQUE BARBED BOBBED BOB WIRE

Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Milton C. Shinn patent, dated March 1, 1881 This wire is called "Shinn's Four Point Locked-On Herrringbone Barb on One of Two Twisted Lines", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 1646-B). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are pointed made from two round barbing wires. One of the barbing wires has a herring bone pattern. Barbing wires are twisted together around one line wire, and ends of barbs twisted together to lock barb to line wire. Sample is 18" in length and has five barbs. Barbs are well spaced and cut is well centered. Wire sample shows light pitting. There are no bent, broken or missing points. Wire is in very good used condition. There are no off odors.
