    Description

This is a vintage antique sample of wire fencing.   This sample features a George P. Rishel patent, dated October 14, 1890. T
his wire is called "Rishel's Barbless Wide Edge Weave Wire Board - Galvanized," by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 34-A - VARIATION). (Hagemeier refers to wide and narrow but issued same number, and does not show plated wires).    This wire is a barbless horse pen or ornamental wire.  Wire is made of two parallel lines, made of two wires wrapped together.  Two other wires connect the line wires, and zig-zag back and forth and are woven through the twist in the two lines.   Wire board is 4" in width.
Wire sample shows light age wear.  Sample is 18" in length.  Lines may show light bending.  There are no broken or repaired strands.
