Description
this is a rare "Red Star Line" advertising fan with a colorful image of a Pierrot kissing the hand of a well dressed lady.   "Red Star Line" is printed on the side stick.   fromc 1930.
NOTES:
not sure of the exact year this was made. Â Â Â the Red Star Line began in 1871, had some financial difficulties and changed from being cargo ships to become a passenger line in the early 1930's. Â They declared bankruptcy in 1934 and its assets were sold to the Holland America line in 1935. Â This fan appears to have been issued when it was a Red Star passenger line.
VG+ condition.
