    Description

1880’S TEXAS/TEXARKANA LAWMAN WORN GUN RIG BELONGING TO THOMAS WRIGHT
Robert Gibbons enlisted in the Confederate Army serving in Company A, 2nd Regiment, (Woodward's) Kentucky Cavalry. After the Civil war records are scattered with Gibbons relocating like many former rebels to Texas. Gibbons pursued an apprenticeship with other Texas makers., eventually opening his own Saddlers shop in Gainsville in the late 1870s or early 1880's. Gibbons saddles, miniture salesman samples and holsters have become highly sought as Gibbons only produced very limited special made items until his passing in 1894.
Holster is marked with full oval cartouche
    "R. E. GIBBONS GAINESVILLE TEXAS"
On later 19th to early 20th century unmarked
gun belt. This outfit was originally purchased and worn by Texas/Arkansas lawman Thomas Wright passing by descent through his family and to Mr. Wright’s great-grandaughter.,through whom it was acquired.
Condition: Overall good, leather is subtle with wear commensurate with use and age as shown.
Belt has some minor loss, however maintaining all original attachments. Wired buckle in place only to prevent movement or damage else excellent.
