PRESTIGE Eclipse Auditorium Guitar with All Solid Koa Construction and a Fishman Matrix Ellipse Blend Pickup with Hard Shell Case
I first stumbled across Prestige guitars by accident. But it was a nice surprise. I bought one of their Heritage electric guitars thinking it was from another manufacturer. When I received it and checked it out and played it I decided I came out the winner. I called up Prestige the next day and became a dealer. Over the years I have been very impressed with each guitar I have received from them. They use top quality woods and electronics which offer great curb appeal. On closer inspection you can see that each is skillfully crafted and you find that they play effortlessly. Then you plug them in a realize you have a great tone machine as well.
This particular Eclipse Koa is one of their older models, probably between 2010 and 2015. This guitar has aged well. It plays great and has a wonderful tone. The fretwear is pretty minor and there are very little scuff marks on the top. There was a small split along the back of the guitar that has been repaired. There is a small scratch on the back as well. One of the latches on the case broke off but it may be repairable or should be replaceable. I still have the piece and it will be included in the case accessory.
Prestige Guitars are some of the finest guitars available. They hail from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Their acoustic guitars are all built as an Auditorium style guitar with a beveled Venetian cutaway. All the woods in these guitars are hand picked in Vancouver from the same wood supplier as several other high end manufacturers. The C&C work, routing and painting are done in one of Korea's finer manufacturing facilities. Then all Assembly, Electronics, Fret work, Leveling, Crowning takes place here in Vancouver on all our models.
The Highest Quality Koa Top, Back and Sides
Hawaiian koa grows only between the 300- and 7,000-foot elevations on Hawaii's five major islands (the finest instrument-quality koa trees grow on the Big Island). Like a precious metal, koa's desirability is linked to its relative scarcity, but its aesthetic appeal makes it irresistible to lovers of exotic tonewoods. Koa exhibits a wide range of warm brown hues, often accentuated by exciting grain figure. A hard, dense wood, koa produces a tone somewhere between that of maple and rosewood. This rare and exotic tonewood is prized for its stunning golden hues, bold grain figure, and sweet tone.
Our Flagship Eclipse Acoustic Koa/Koa guitar features only the highest in quality Solid Koa Top, Back and Sides. The ebony fingerboard is fitted with nickel silver frets, leveled and finished by hand for perfect playability and intonation. The soundhole and perimeter of the top are inlaid with hundreds of pieces of beautiful abalone shell, while Figured Maple and Padauk binds the body, beveled cutaway, fingerboard and headstock.
