RARE Deep Contour body Ovation Celebrity with a Solid Spruce top. The CC49S-VA was a new model in 2012 and was the first Celebrity model to feature multiple sound holes and the benefits of the innovative Deep Contour body. Made from glass-microsphere impregnated Lyra chord composite, Ovation's Contour Bowl is designed to provide maximum acoustic response with the feel of a small-body instrument. Sculpted to fit the contour of the player's anatomy, the lightweight Lyra chord GS body is a joy to hold, whether sitting or standing. A Contour Bowl body has the acoustic projection, midrange punch, and huge bottom end of a traditional jumbo-style instrument, yet it offers the playing comfort of Ovation's Super-Shallow body. For amplification, the installed OP-4BT preamp features 3-band EQ with +/-12 dB control over the bass, midrange and treble frequencies, and a handy battery status light. An accurate and easy-to-use onboard chromatic tuner works equally well for standard, open, and altered tunings.
Though Elite was not used in the name of this model, the multiple sound holes and epaulettes show that it certainly is. The solid spruce top with vintage amber burst color has a gloss finish and beautiful abalone purfling with ivory binding. The sound holes are adorned with epaulettes made of solid hardwoods. The neck is made of nato wood with a dovetail joint positioned at the 14th fret. The fingerboard matches the bridge and is made of rosewood with 23 frets with ivory binding and small dot position abalone inlays. 25-1/4" scale length, chrome tuners with black PVC buttons, and a modified Quintad bracing pattern complete the list of specs for this handsome CC49S-VA.
