    Description

This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing.   This sample features an Ole O. Kittleson patent dated May 7, 1878. This wire is called "Kittleson's Two Point Half Hitch Large Barb on Galvanized Lines,
" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 442-B)  This wire features two round line wires twisted together. Line wires are galvanized.  Barbs are two pointed by wrapping a round barbing wire around one of the lines, in a half hitch configuration.  Wire shows light pitting.  Sample is 18" in length and has four barbs.  Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered.   There is some light bending of barbs, but no broken, or missing barbing points.
