Hammersley Mayfield Pattern Made in England Cup & Saucer. Floral Swags

This vintage, mid century cup & saucer set of fine bone china is in excellent condition with little to no fading of the gold trim. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. The Mayfield pattern depicted on this set was  also used by Aynsley China when the Hammersley brand was sold to Ainsley in 1988.  The Hammersley company name originated in 1887 through purchase of an existing plant and continued until 1966 when they sold out to Copeland (Spode). In turn Royal Worcester purchased Spode in 1976. Through its long history the products originated by Hammersley have continued to produce some of the finest bone china which is both light and strong.
