    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a John Hallner patent, dated January 22, 1878. This wire is called "Hallner's Greenbriar or Notched Ribbon Wrapped Round Line" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 205-B). This wire features a single round line wire which runs straight. This line is wrapped by a ribbon wire which has been notched on one side. As ribbon is wrapped notched points are made to project. This sample also has a factory splice in the ribbon. Generally these splices in the ribbon are made with a tiny rivet. In this case the ends of the ribbon are simply folded over a projecting point. Wires is 18-1/4" in length. Splice is not well centered in sample. Barbing oints show some bending. Wire is in very good used condition. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
