    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Jacob Haish patent, dated August 31, 1875. This wire is called "Haish's Square Wrapped "S" Walking Cane Black Barbs on Galvanized Lines" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 428-B VARIATION), This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Line wires are galavanized. Barbs are two pointed made from un-galvanized round stock. Barbs are wrapped in an "S" around each of the lines, and points then bent at right angles to the "S" and then down against lines. Points are fairly short. The true walking cane barb, should have both points laid against the "S" with no projections. This sample is 18" in length and has 7 barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light pitting, and some light bending of barbs. There are no broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
