Description
This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features an Albert Gunderson patent, dated November 8, 1881. This wire is called "Gunderson's Two & Four Point Wrapped Barbs on Round Line", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 49-B VARIATION) (Hagemeier does not show the two and four point barbs - I am sure the four point is a factory irregular). This wire features a single round line wires. Line wire has a slight kink at barbing location. Two pointed barbs are made by wrapping a round barb through this kink in a spiral and then bending both ends back against the wrap. Four points are made by wrapping two barbs one atop the other in the same location. This sample is 18-1/4" in length and has two 2-point and one 4-point barbs. One side of the four point has a skipped barbing space.. Wire shows age wear, with light to light pitting, and some bending of barbs. There are no broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
