    Description

This listing is for an authentic vintage sample of antique wire fencing.   This wire features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874.     This wire is called "Glidden's Two Point Hanging Barb on One of Two Twisted Line Wires"  by collectors.  (ref. Hagemeier 412-B).   This wire features two round line wires twisted together.  Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire one and one half times  around one line wire. The barbs end up with both points in the same direction.  This is referred to as a "hanging" barb.    Wire sample is at least 18"  in length.    It shows age and use wear with  light pitting.   There are five barbs, well spaced, and cut is well centered.  There is some bending of points, but no broken points.   Wire is in good  used condition.
This sample of antique barbed wire is absolutely old and authentic and sells with no reserve.  Shipping will be .50, within the United States.   We have listed many other samples of antique fencing and barbed wire, and will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping.   Additional wire purchases, paid on the same invoice, ship for fifty cents each.
