Description
This listing is for a lot of three (3) authentic vintage samples of antique barbed wire fencing. These wires feature a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. These wires are called "Glidden's Two Point Barb on Round Wire & Seven Strand Cable - Barb on Cable" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier No. 338-B). This lot contains three samples of wires ....... all with different sizes of line wires. These wires feature two twisted together line wires. The barbed line is a cable composed of seven light weight lines twisted together. The non barbed line is round in cross section. Each sample has a different size of line running from a 12 gauge to a 13 gauge; and a 14 gauge. .. Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping round barbing wire twice around the cable line wire. Wire samples are at least 18" in length. Wires show some age and use wear with light to moderate pitting. Some of the wires in the cables may show damage. There is some bending of points, but there are no broken or missing points. Wires are otherwise in good used condition.The three wires in this listing; will be counted as a single wire for mailing; and combined shipping.
These three samples of antique barbed wire are absolutely old and authentic and sell, as a group, with no reserve. Shipping will be .50, within the United States.
