This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing.   This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874.  This wire is called "Glidden's Two Point Sliding Barbs around Two Lines" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 323-B). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made from a round barbing wire.  Wire is wrapped twice around both lines.  Barbs are loosely applied allowing them to slide.       Wire sample is 18" in length.   Wire sample shows some pitting. There is some bending of barbing points, and sample may have a broken point..
