    Description

    This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing.   This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1875.  This wire is called "Glidden's Two Point Close Set Barbs on Alternating Lines" by collectors. (ref.Hagemeier 372-B).  This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire twice around one line.  Barbs are on both lines and in alternating sequence. Wire sample shows light to moderate pitting.  Sample is 18" in length.  There are fifteen barbs well spaced and cut is well centered.  There are no bent,  broken or missing barbing points.  Wire is in very good used condition.
