Classic set 4 Gorham Silverplate Corinthian Column Form Candlesticks 1920 Date
Presented is a lovely set of 4 vintage Gorham silver plate candlesticks, dated
1920. These candlesticks are made in a handsome Neoclassical Corinthian column
form, with fluted central shafts, acanthus decorated capitals, and bold beaded
decoration around the stepped bases and bobeches. The design is quite appealing
and one that is very popular in both sterling and silverplate. The candlesticks
have removable bobeches or wax drips, for ease of cleaning.
The candlesticks are in great condition. The silver plating is in good shape,
with no significant wear-through. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms,
no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each candlestick is stamped on the underside with the maker's mark for
Gorham, EP for electro-plate, the product number 0130, and the date symbol of a
spoon for 1920.
Each candlestick stands about 6 ¼ inches tall. The bases measure about 3 3/8
inches square.
