    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features an Arthur S. Burnell patent, dated June 19, 1877. This wire is called "Burnell's Cross Over Four Point Barb on Two Parallel Lines", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 530-B). This wire features two round line wires, that run parallel to each other. Barbs are four pointed made by inserting points of two round barbing wires between line wires, and wrapping them partially around one line wire each. Points are not hooked together. Remainder of barbing wires are wrapped together around both of the line wires. This sample is 18-1/4" in length and has six barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, but cut is not well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light to moderate pitting. There are no bent, broken or missing barbs. Wire is in very good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
