    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Jacob Brotherton patent dated September 3, 1878. This wire is called "Brotherton's Round Barb on Two Heavy & One Lightweight Line Wires", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 1420-B). This wire features two twisted together equal sized round line wires. These two lines are then twisted with a third much lighter weight line. Barbs are two point made from round barbing stock, and barbs are on the two heavier lines only. Barbing point is inserted between line wires, wrapped around one line wire, and then around both line wires. This sample is 18" in length and has four barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light to moderate pitting, and some very light bending of barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
