BRAINERDS OPEN DOUBLE LOOP HANGING FLAT BARB - ANTIQUE BARBED BARB BOBBED WIRE

Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Curtis B. Brainerd patent dated December 5, 1882. This wire is called "Brainerd's Open Double Loop Hanging Flat Barb" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 253-B VARIATION - Hagemeier does not show the barb made from flattened stock). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made from flattened round stock. Barb is wrapped in open loops around one line wire, and points left pointing in the same direction.. This sample is 18" in length and has three barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows light age wear, with minimal pitting. There are no bent, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in very good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings.
