    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a George C. Baker patent, dated February 27, 1883. This wire is called "Baker's Flat Very Close Set Barbs in Alternating Sequence on Both Lines", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 222-B VARIATION) Hagemeier shows Baker barbs 1" apart but barbs on one of two lines). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping flat barbing stock once around one line wire. In this sample both lines have barbs and barbs are in alternating sequence. This sample is 18" in length and has 18 barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light pitting, and some light bending of barbs. There are no broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
