In light of the recent years, the work on Judaism, handicraft, you can expand the range of products made at the factory for objects of Jewish worship. First, however, should bring the silhouette of a goldsmith and give you some historical data.
Jarre was born in 1852 and lived a long time, because he died before World War II in 1938. Initially, he worked in the famous factory of metal products Norblin in Warsaw, where deputed him to Krakow with M. Jakubowski for the foundation branch of the Warsaw factory around 1890. Jarra organized their plant bought and acted independently performing household silverware, dishes church and Judaica. He obtained considerable success, as in Cracow was not until the arrival of Jarry larger studio and factories household metal objects and sacred use.
His factory prospered very well. In many of Krakow's houses preserved to this day there are different dishes (sugar bowl, konfietki, etc.) And sets table utensils. In churches meet chalices and vestments smaller. Products manufactured at the Martin Jarry had to stand his contemporary artistic level, ornamental and technical, since Jarra in 1892 was awarded a silver medal at the exhibition in Lviv; He received a further honor and distinction. In 1893 he founded a branch factory in Lviv, which proves the success of the project.
It should be recalled that the goldsmiths since the mid-nineteenth century. Used various machines, manual work only denied technological progress.
Often only large decorative elements, eg. In Hanukkah lamps or tasach (palm trees, lions, columns etc.) cast in a separate form or boned, applied to the wall and kept in small rivets. Modernizing production at its factory brought Jarra in 1903, a special steam machines from Switzerland.
But the heyday did not last long - as a result of difficulties with the Austrian authorities and fierce competition, the plant declined. The new period of prosperity came only after the First World War. Evidence of this message, that in 1927 was processed here until 1000 kg of silver per year. Jarry products are distinguished by graceful, composed deliberately silhouette, are noble in form and skillfully enhanced decoration. It is acting in the spirit of eclecticism. Often the products of this factory (which, what to give, was on the street Berka Joselewicz in Kazimierz, Cracow), you can feel the echoes of classicism, often used neo-Baroque and neo-Gothic motifs.
