  • Condition: No maker name, but obviously US made. It sells AS-IS. I have done nothing to it except for cleaning. This was a popular southern stye in the later 1800's - early 1900's. The billet straps are in poor condition, but it is otherwise fairly solid. There is surface cracking on the leather. The underside is in good shape. Probably sized for a youth or a lady. Comes exactly as pictured with what are probably the original wooden stirrups. Please look at pictures closely. Thank you.

    Here are the saddle particulars:
    This saddle is called a Kentucky Rollback. It was a civilian saddle and most of them date from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. These were plantation style saddles used mostly on gaited horses, and were
    believed to have been developed by Minihan &Hutchinson.
    Very thick padding on front swell and rear cantle of saddle
    Antique wood stirrups with leather straps and metal buckles
    Suede leather underside
    Pommel to cantle is 13 inches
    Weighs 11 lbs
