ANTIQUE 1897 MAINE & WINCHESTER TOOLED LEATHER WESTERN COWBOY SADDLE & STIRUPS.
I just cleared the estate of a gentleman who did saddle upholstery. This saddle has a tag that says 1897 Maine and Winchester. The makers mark is no longer readable. Also the tooling is overall worn. There is crazing to the leather. The underside sheepskin is worn out. There are two leather straps that were attached but I ran out of room for pictures. The metal stirrups are stamped Pantent Dec 97. The saddle is in solid condition for it's age. This saddle was well used. I believe it's the same style  saddle that recently at auction for 85000.00. clearly that one was in fantastic condition. I am not a saddle guy so I don't know how to measure or what style it is.
