    Description

    DESCRIPTION:
Offered here are a great old pair of black wooly (angora) chaps in really nice condition for their age. They have their original belt and lining and appear to have been moderately used throughout their life. The makers stamp on these chaps is very faint, but can just be made out on the belt. Also, there is an old tag attached with Koontz, Portland, OR. on it.
Wooly chaps became popular in the late 1800's and remain highly collectible to this day. Originally they were designed to protect cowboys who worked in colder wetter regions. However, because of their look, they were also popular with Wild West Show performers. Today they are highly sought after by Western American collectors.
