    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Thomas V. Allis patent, dated July 26, 1881,. This wire is called "Allis' Buckthorn Twisted Ribbon with Round and Channeled Reinforcing Rib" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 996-B VARIATION) (996-B shows a diamond shaped core .... rest of Allis numbers show a round core .... I could find no listing for this channeled core). This wire features a 5/8" wide twisted ribbon wire, with barbing points cut on one side of ribbon only. Ribbon has a reinforcing core, which shows round on one side and channeled on the opposite side. This sample is 18" in length and has 18 barbs,. Barbs are well spaced and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light pitting. There are no bent, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
